All laminations are stacked utilizing designed stacking tools and fixtures. ARC Systems, Inc. is truly one of the few remaining, totally integrated, suppliers of specialty custom windings in the electromechanical motor and components industries. Our in-house machining capabilities enable us to grind/hone stacks to .0002" tolerances on both Outer Diameter and Inner Diameter. If the application demands, closer tolerances can be achieved.

Winding Assemblies And Stator Assemblies

 

The stator assembly is a stationary coil in an AC motor.  These types of assemblies include a stator core, a coil wound and inserted in the stator core and having ends connected to lead wires.  The stator core is made up of stacked laminations. All laminations are stacked utilizing designed stacking tools and fixtures.  Different lamination materials can be used to meet or exceed magnetic specifications.

 

The laminations are cleaned, aligned on special tooling, epoxy and cured to form a bonded stack.  We can also offer welded stacks.  Laminated stacks are often insulated on the ends with epoxy powder coating during our fluidized bed process.  Build to print or custom windings are our specialty. Magnet wire of a specified type and size is wound on winding mandrels to produce coil assemblies with exact turns.  High Temperature (Class H) magnet wire is often used.  The wound coils are inserted into the insulated slots of the stack.

 

Specialized techniques are used to minimize coil size and thereby attain lower resistance values, and shorter end turns. When specified, insulation is also placed between coil phases within the slots and/or within the coil end-turns.  Various materials are used for coil insulations in order to meet stringent requirements.From Arc Systems Inc.

Many different winding types are offered. Potting coil heads provides a sealed system for harsh environments.  Our vacuum impregnation process provides better environmental and mechanical protection because all air and moisture contaminates are removed and all voids are filled.  Stator stack assemblies are often ground and precision honed to ensure proper air gaps and alignments.

 

ARC Systems, Inc. has over 35 years of experience in customized precision winding manufacturing. We offer High Performance Stator and Rotor Components available as Kits.  The use of these Kit Components will eliminate the need for Housing and End Bells, thereby becoming an integral part of any assembly which will not only save valuable space but will also reduce overall weight.  From design inception, ARC can satisfy any requirement from style of winding, insulation type, impregnation or potting and lead termination. Every stator is electrically and mechanically inspected prior to shipment.
