Three Phase & 400 Hz AC Induction Motors
We make single phase and three phase induction motors to meet the varied needs of our clients. These motors are often referred to as “workhorse” motors, as they are used in many high demand and heavy duty applications, such as aerospace and defense systems and vehicles, as well as various elevator, railroad, hydraulics, pump, petroleum and oil drilling equipment, among many others.
Induction motors are available with copper rotors or aluminum rotors. We provide 400 cycle and 60 cycle options. We can also provide gearheads or brakes.
They are available in speed ranges from sub-fractional horsepower to upwards of two and three horsepower. We can fabricate motors outside this range based on your unique requirements.
We offer kit motors, which include the stator assembly, rotor assembly with rotor castings, shaft, and other components. We can also supply frameless induction motor kits for customers that want to use their own frame or housing. If you need stator assemblies for stator induction motors, we can meet your needs.
Three Phase Induction Motors
These motors are designed to operate from a three-phase source of alternating voltage. The stator is a classic three-phase stator with the winding assembly displaced by 120 degrees.
We manufacture them using squirrel cage rotors with aluminum and copper bars. We also offer them with thermal protectors and thermal shutoff. This feature protects the winding due to excessive operational temperatures or overload of current.
The motors windings can be connected to a three-phase AC line in one of two ways. The first is a connection from the phases of the supply to the neutral. The second is a connection between the phases of the supply. We can design motors based on either configuration as per your needs.
AC Induction Motors
These motors are one of the two primary types of AC motors that we design and manufacture. They are powered by alternating current and consist of two basic parts: an outside stationary stator with coils and an inside rotor attached to the output shaft.
The outside stator produces a rotating magnetic field, while the inside rotor is given torque by that field. These motors are also called asynchronous motors because they rely on a small difference between the magnetic field and the rotor to induce the rotor current.
